This was mainly my fault but recently ive been putting a lot of effort towards trying to housebreak her but i think she has gotten too used to the idea of going whenever and wherever. any helpful tips? Mind you she is not a little puppy anymore nonetheless still a young dog

Just keep at it, it is never too late. Make sure you have cleaned up all the areas where she used to go and take her outside to one specific spot.
well all you have to do is buy a dog crate for when your not home and make her sleep in it at night to prevent peeing while everyones sleeping. then take her out first thing in the morning and every couple hours. think of it as when ever you go to the bathroom she does. also only be feeding her once a day with a cup of hard food and a can of soft food and thats enough.
To house train a dog, you must take them out pretty much every single hour. Keep them in a room with some puppy pads, or a kennel if you have one, when you can’t be there. Even if you can’t be there, you’re going to have to come by or have someone else come by and let the animal out at least once every four-six hours or so. It is very uncomfortable for a dog to sit in a kennel with their own urine. Make sure to reward positive behaviour, and make sure if you see her going to pee/poo somewhere you rush over and take her outside, and again, reward. Do not scold or punish for incorrect behaviour, clean the area thoroughly and keep rewarding and make going outside exciting. Bring favourite toys and treats and play with her while you’re out there.
Most dogs don’t take to housetraining until they’re over 6 months old, so really 8 months isn’t all that old for it.
Take her out on a lead to a specif place and give command to eliminate. Do this regularly throughout the day. Keep consistency in the routine so she learns that round about that time, she has to go.
I got my puppy at about 8 weeks and he was house trained within 3 weeks. Just keep taking her out frequently and wait for her to do her business and always reward when it is done outside. You should look out for signs that your dog needs to go, usually sniffing the floor or something. If there happens to be accidents don’t shout at the dog because they can become scared of doing their business in front of you and will end up sneaking off and doing it somewhere else. You just have to be consistent and always reward good behavior.
I used puppy pads with great results for my larger dogs. My small dog (rat terrier) was a different story. It took a good 4 months to get him to go outside. I kept the puppy pads close to the door and eventually moved them outside. We had our first dog (lab mix) trained within a week, our second (great dane) in 2 days. Smaller dogs tend to be a little harder to train but let him out often and praise him when he (or she) goes outside. If you can, a doggie door works great. We no longer have one but now my dogs either sits by the door or scratches on my bedroom door at night when they need out. Just be patient and soon your dog will be accident free.
heres wat i did, when mi dog pooped or peed, i (dont use ur hand, cuz if u do n u go to pet them they may a ttack u, or it will make them scared of u) rolled up a couple of newspapers, n take it to it stick its nose really close n say bad smack them then take them where u want them to pee n say u potty here! keep doing it n maybe after a week, it should work. if it does they will whine or act wierd to get your attention to take them out! HOPE THIS WORKS
