Try getting him “Kong” toy. You can get it at any pet store. My vet suggested it and put his favorite treats, peanut butter, cheese or anything you think it’s alright for him and give it to him. My dog will be busy trying to get the treats and he ignores me by the time he’s done I’ll be gooonnee..
Dogs bark as a form of communication. He will choose whether or not he wants to stop barking. He has to get used to you coming and going.
it is seperation anxiety. your dog loves you and do not want you to leave. what is best is give your dog a toy as you leave
Buy a dog collar with citronella spray. Ask your vet about how this works.
Take him for a good hard run before you go out. He wont be all stressed and will probably just sleep while your gone. Either that or a bark collar. They work better.
alright say it slowly t…r…a…i…n y…o…u…r d…o…g
When you get ready to leave, dont baby your dog, just tell it,”be good i will be back”…not “daddy loves you”dont kiss and hug it! cause it hurts its feelings,so they bark more or less saying come back and pay attention to me,make it short and sweet, leave some chew toys, and maybe a radio on or tv.Animal Planet…neat sounds to keep him occupied.hope it works, does for me!
They make a collar that will give the dog a slight shock when it barks. But you will have to work with him when you are home so he knows when its ok to bark. Also leaving the TV on for him helps also. it will give him some company and cut down on the noise from outside.
The Kong idea is a good one, but your dog also has separation anxiety. Take an afternoon to work with your dog. First go out the door and then come right back in. Do not pay any attention to the dog, do not look at him, do not scold him, do not talk to him. Then go out again and wait a little longer before coming back in. Keep this up, lengthening the intervals between the time you leave and the time you come back in. Finally, leave for about an hour and then come back. See how he does. This may take awhile. Be patient, but do not give him any attention when he’s barking. Do not linger at the door, saying goodbye to the dog, that makes them think you aren’t coming back.
give him a huggy
