I tried to put her in the crate etc. but the next time someone either rings the doorbell or just comes at the door she just attacks the door. Any suggestions?

bark collar
Get a shock collar…the dog will learn fast!
Don’t get a bark or shock collar. There are, believe it or not, other, nicer ways to calm your dog when someone is at the door.
The way I’d like to explain to you is to have a friend knock on the door or ring the bell, then have the dog sit down before you open it. This technique will require a lot of patience form you and the friend who is helping you. When your dog sits after the bell is rung, reward them with a treat, then tell them to stay or wait and slowly proceed to the door. If they get up while you are opening or on your way to open the door, close it and return to where your dog is. Command them to sit again, and keep repeating this process until your dog stays seated while you open the door, great the person, and allow them in. You should be stern when doing this, but absolutely do not strike them or yank on their collars in order to have them listen.
NO MATTER WHAT, DO NOT USE A SHOCK COLLAR TO TRAIN YOUR DOG! USING SHOCK COLLARS IS INHUMANE AND CAN HARM YOUR DOG PHYSICALLY. THERE ARE OTHER OPTIONS THAT ARE JUST AS EFFECTIVE BUT MUCH MORE KIND AND HUMANE.
When someone comes to the door, and your dog is barking and jumping on the door, go over to her and firmly but not loudly, say “No!”. Block her access to the door and tell her to sit, then stay. it is helpful to have someone that isn’t a visitor, come to your door and ring the bell, etc, just so you can practice this procedure. keep it consistent and practice this training drill three or four times a day, every day. Soon, your dog will get that she is not supposed to get all excited every time someone comes to the door. Everytime someone comes to your door, you must do that. be the boss. You need to act and sound authorative. Have control over her, However, you do not need to harm her in anyway. Please, jsut please, don’t use a shock collar, Just don’t.
Call Cesar Millan! No, seriously I have seen him handle situations like that easy. For instance have someone let you know before they knock or ring the door bell or before they walks in, for practice. Try and cut off about 5 feet of distance between you and the door. Stand your ground and claim your space, wait until the dog calms down before answering the door. Always point a finger or try and snap or train the dog to know it cant come in that space until it’s calm. Might be a good starting method before you shock your dog. Thats just me. Good luck!!
Don’t get any of that dog collar carp!or bark away and most of all not shock collar!!!!!!!!!Do you have any idea how many side effects those have! Shock collars can cause brain and heart problems!Use one of those dog training web sites.
Can you be firm? Immediately after the the dog’s 1st bark stop what you are doing and w/o a word and grab the collar under the chin and pull hard down to the floor repeating calmly almost like a growling voice “No Barking”. Keep trying until done.
If you can’t do this then good luck. It’s always worked for me with no resistance.
Here’s a suggestion. Patience and training. It’s a short answer, but I’m totally serious. That’s really all you need to know.
Watch some Dog Whisperer. It sounds cliche, but you will learn a lot. Trust me.
Also, do NOT use a bark/shock collar. My parents tried one on our dog, and she became scared to DEATH of any beeping noise. We couldn’t take any pictures of her, she couldn’t relax on the couch without her hearing some sort of beep in a commercial and going into fits… It took us two years to train her out of that. We stopped using it after it fell off by the fence one day, and I picked it up and it shocked me, bruising my hand and turning it purple. It HURT. Don’t do that to your dog, please.
Take a long lead and attach it to her collar. Have someone come up to the door, and when your dog goes toward the door, “pop” the leash (quickly pull it back towards yourself) and tell your dog “no”. Do this until she stops trying to get to the door; then praise her (and give her a treat if you want to).
Repeat this exercise until your dog no longer runs toward the door (in 15-20 minute sessions).
It will probably take several sessions before your dog starts consistently exhibiting the desired behavior. No worries, this is common. Dogs, like people, require practice to master tricks and behaviors.
I hope this helps!
Dogs bark, it’s a fact of life. There are times when you want them to bark, like when an intruder is breaking into your home or someone is harming you or them. But there are certainly times when you do not want your puppy dog to bark. Times like when someone rings the doorbell or knocks on the door … especially at Halloween when the kids are trick-or-treating and your doorbell rings quite a bit. Here is how to teach a puppy dog not to bark when the doorbell rings.
Instructions:-
1.At the first sign of a bark, walk over to your puppy dog and make it sit down. Look it straight in the eyes and tell it very firmly – NO. Don’t raise your voice or yell the command, because this will only scare the animal. Also, never hit your dog with your hands, or any other object, to stop it from barking. Hitting only makes the dog afraid of you and will cause more behavioral problems.
2. While keeping steady eye contact with your pup, hold your hand out – palm down – and place your hand close to the puppies face and tell them again, in a firm voice – NO.
3. As you make your way to the door to let guests in, if the puppy follows you and is jumping up and down and barking, just step in front of the puppy and do not open the door yet. Then make him/her sit and then say no.
4. Walk back over to the door and if the puppy gets up and walks over to the door and starts barking, don’t open the door and tell him no and make him sit.
5.Each time he/she obeys, give him/her lots of praise and pats on the head as a reward for not barking.
6. Repeat this process until the puppy dog learns not to bark when the doorbell rings.

Try personally giving your dog basic and obedience training to establish to him that you are its leader and your orders and house rules must always be followed. The training is very easy and doesnt take much time since dogs are naturally fast learners. After the training, you can command your dog to stop barking and or jumping at the door as it attempts to, and it will follow obediently.

Re: How I Got My Neighbor’s Dog To Stop Barking!
I recently had a really bad situation involving my neighbor’s dogs and their barking. I work at night and sleep during the day when people usually don’t pay attention to their barking dogs.
I asked my neighbors to quiet their dogs down and they agreed. The dogs are still barking at about the same rate so I am sure that they did not take me seriously.
After weeks of not being able to sleep, I decided to check the internet and found a lot of people that recommended “The Barking Dog CD”.
To make a long story short, I popped the CD into my CD player and the dogs stopped barking almost immediately. As on person stated “I almost fell out of my chair when the dogs stopped barking”. I totally agree with them. It worked like a charm. The website is at http://www.antibarkingdevice.com if you are interested.
This method should also work on your own dog if you are having problems with your dog. I certainly hope that I was helpful to you.
It would be best that you have an Electronic Dog repellent. It has a discomforting but not harmful high frequency sound (20,000Hz-25,000Hz), audible to dogs but not to humans. And, the second is a super bright LED flashing strobe that temporarily blinds and confuses the dog. Helps stop the approach of unwanted dogs up to 40 feet. Also has a training setting. Requires on 9 volt battery. Can be used as a flashlight.
