If I get another dog, can I train her with out my dog being confused or jealous?

Of course I need to teach her sit, stay, etc. When I trained my dog, I used treats. How can I train the new girl without making my dog feel jealous & left out?

When you’re working with your new dog, you can put your current dog in a down stay and just let him watch. Walk over once or twice to hand him a treat or give him a pet. Then give him a turn, put him through his paces and let your new dog watch. It’s surprising what a dog will learn by watching another dog do something. I taught my puppy to go over jumps just by having him watch my adult do it. When it was his turn, he knew exactly what to do.

When we got Millie, i used Tess, to sort-of help. Tess was like an example to Millie.
As i did my training with Tess Millie would watch, then when it was her turn she knew what to do.
Train your new dog with your old one.

yes, as long as you’ve trained your other dog well. you can actually use your trained dog to train the new one. the new one will pick up and learn from the trained dog. include both in your training. it will take more treats, but the new one will pick it up faster. always use their name first, as in rover come, rover sit. this way the get know who you are commanding.
