Like I heard you get a certificate after passing them? What do they teach your dogs exactly and do you need to give them to your dogs?

you sign up for courses for dog classes, you take your dog to school usually once a week, most courses are 6weeks long. and on lead.
elementary, come, sit, stay, down, will be taught in the first course, you’ll be given a weekly lesson to practice all week (the trainer will know how diligent you have been)
Once you pass this course, it’s on to intermediate school, and so on and so on.
Any training you do with your dog is a good thing. So if getting to the trainer once a week is a problem get a good book from your library, gather your friends with dogs, and start your own training course.
Most any dog trainer will advise you as to different techniques to use for each dog is different and will learn differently, so there needs to be more trial and error when your doing it yourself and there will be no certificate, but your dog will be well mannered and you’ll be proud to walk him in the same dog parks as the ones with certificates
    Hope this helps
    Good Luck

    Hi,

A training class is the best way for most owners to teach their dog to be friendly and well behaved. Because dog training is completely unregulated, it’s a good idea to do some research before you enroll to ensure that you and your dog will have a productive and fun time in class. Here’s more info:

Dog training: the process of teaching a dog to perform certain actions in response to certain commands which the dog is trained to understand. It is a general term which does not, by itself, describe what or how the dog is taught.
