Has anyone tried to housebreak your dog by teaching them to ring a bell to let you know they need to go out?

I would love to get some feedback on how you did it and how long it took the dog to figure it out. My dog knows to go to the door, but she can’t figure out that she needs to ring the bell. She is a 4 month old Goldendoodle. Thanks for any help.

Anyone have trouble housebreaking their dog?

I have a 3-year-old yorkie, weighing about 4 lbs. Both my husband and I work full time, which means the dog has always spent most of the day by himself. When he was a puppy we tried the pads and he did pretty good, however, around 6 months he started marking everywhere. We had to put diapers on him. He wears diapers during the day and at night time. He does pretty good while we’re home, as long as he is let out every hour. Any suggestions how to break the bad habit that we’ve already started? We’re getting ready to move and have a baby and I don’t want to carry this nasty method on.
BTW, we haven’t had him neutered yet.

Anyone out there do competitive dog agility (have some questions)?

I have a female Sheltie who just turned a year and is awesome at agility. This is my first time doing agility with any dog. I’ve done a lot of AKC obedience though. She is definitely ready to AG-1 for UKC but she still is learning weaving so she can’t do AKC yet. What is a good way to practice weaving at home without spending an arm and a leg on equipment? Could I just practice with cones? Also, my instructors are really big on “distance control” (I think that’s what it’s called) and it is so confusing to me! They have me do front cross-overs and it is so awkward to me (I’m not a very cordinated person to begin with!) but they say it’s necessary to learn if I want to go to higher levels with my dog. Right now, my Sheltie barks at me alot when we’re running the course. Of course, Shelties DO BARK TONS but they said that she’s partially doing that because she’s looking for me to instruct her. Basically, the dog is way smarter than me! How can I not get so frustrated? (Cont’d)
I don’t want to quit because even the instructors say that she is extremely promising. Also, she is VERY FAST but she isn’t really fast on the course. Is this just because I haven’t learned how to do the distance control thingie? Any advice appreciated! Also, anyone know if there are any UKC dog agility competitions in the Midwest this summer (MI, IN, IL, or Ohio)? I guess there is one in Kalamazoo, MI but it’s full already. One more question! I also have a 10 month old male Sheltie. He is a bit reserve and I’ve only taught him basic obedience at home (he’s never taken a class) because of his shyness. Can a shy dog still do okay in agility? Is it too late to sign him up for some agility or obedience classes? He tends to just freeze when he gets nervous and won’t move AT ALL! It’s kind of funny but I also wanted to do conformation with him and I want him to come out of his shell! Part of the problem is that his big sis has always gotten more attention I think.

I’m going to start my dog on agility training. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get supplies?

I need:
-Regular jumps
-Tunnels
-Rings
-Weave Pole

And anything I forgot. If you have any ideas on how to make them at home, that would be great too.

Could you also tell me how much these should cost?

Thanks!!

Anyone ever used “Bark Busters” for dog training?

I sent an intro email to them and there is a local dad/daughter team who does dog training. I have 2 adult female dogs that I rescued. Are they good? Decent pricing? The other local places are hideously expensive. The on site courses are not an option. The dogs are at their worst in our own yard so we need at home training.
