LTC (Army Leader’s Training Course) – Pack own equipment?

Posted: April 15th, 2011 | Author: admin | Filed under: Common Questions | Tags: , , , , , | 1 Comment »

Browsing through past topics about LTC I noticed there were a couple TIs on here answering posts, and hoped I might be able to get a question answered.

Do they want you to bring your own equipment? Like my Kevlar, LBE, Rucksuck, uniform, etc? Or do I need to leave all of that behind and strictly take civilian basics (socks, undergarments, etc?). If so, would it be okay, to pack that in my rucksack or do I need to take a civilian looking pack? And what about dog tags, wear mine since I already have them or leave them back?

Thank you.
Monroe – No sir, not a LTC, I’m speaking of Leader’s Training Course held in Ft. Knox.

Making equipment for a dog agility course?

Posted: March 15th, 2011 | Author: admin | Filed under: Common Questions | Tags: , , , | 5 Comments »

So…. My dog is the kind of dog who loves to jump logs and tall grass while on her walks. Last summer I thought “Well, let’s try to get her to jump agility jumps” so I used lawn chairs and PVC pipe for jumps. Now she is really good at jumping (clears 3′ fences with ease) and I want to include more into our training, as well as create jumps where I have more options for height. So, I have a few questions:
1) How to make jump standards for an agility course?
2) How to make a weave set?
3) How to make/create a tunnel?

We don’t have money to spend on equipment so if you could help me that would be great!!!!
I already said NO MONEY!!!!!!!!!! Even though my dog is fairly medium sized (About 50 lbs), we don’t have the money to buy supplies, we have plenty of wood, tarps, etc….

Would a new Doberman pup ( with training of course ) get along with my 3 Pugs or I am asking for disaster ?

Posted: March 8th, 2011 | Author: admin | Filed under: Common Questions | Tags: , , , , , , , | 7 Comments »

I have 3 older established Pugs that are trained in age from range of 2 1/2 yrs to the oldest Alpha female , being 5 yrs old …
I would really like a new Doberman pup & integrate her into the family …but a next door neighbor had commented that he didn’t think this would work ..because both breeds have such high prey drives …And a vet had said that she thought it would be ok as long as there was strict training and supervision and as long as they were fed separately …Any merit to this ?..Anyone have a Doberman and other smaller dogs ? Can it work ?..Any advice ?..This would be my first ” large ” dog since I was about 12 ….My male Pug is very submissive & he is 3 , and the middle girl is 2 and way playfull , , oldest female is 5 ( she is a bit more high strung – but all are trained and behave ) ….Or am I asking for disaster ?? I would be looking at a puppy aged female for sure ;) Thank You ;)
I am 35 and on disability ( due to an old injury to my spine when I was 16 ) so I have plenty of time to spend with all my ” fur babies ” ..With the exception of bill paying , errands , etc …I am at home pretty much 24/7/365 …Otherwise , I wouldnt even consider it . Thnx .
