Positive Reinforcement is considered as the very best dog training method suitable for any breed of dog. This involves rewarding good behavior that you want your dog to repeat and simply ignoring “bad dog” behavior. This method of training dogs is totally different to the outdated method of obedience training which compared with contemporary standards was totally inhumane and downright cruel such as:
Hitting the dog with rolled up newspapers
Using shock collars
Rubbing the dog’s nose in pooh – yuck!
Your dog by nature wants to please you and employing positive reinforcement in order to train your dog, you will discover that your pet will learn much quicker and the lessons your dog learns will be remembered throughout his or her life time – this is of course the very best path to a well trained doggy.
Top Tips to Help Facilitate Dog Training Efforts
Make sure that you use meaningful rewards. It is a known fact that a lot of dogs get bored quickly and will not respond much with just a simple pat on his head or simply saying “good doggy”. In order to keep your training at the highest possible standards make sure that you use a very tempting incentive for good dog behavior. Have you ever wondered why Scooby puts himself in dangerous situations in order to save his friends even though he and his best bud (Shaggy) are both cowards? Yes, you guessed right – Scooby Snack!
Make sure that you mix up the rewards, do not consistently give your dog the same ole treat while training him or her. All dog breeds have different treats that they just love, there are dogs who will go completely gaga over liver treats. Make sure that you try to search for three different special treats that you can use when training your dog.
Ensure that you use the precise timing when you are rewarding your dog for obeying your command. The goal is to ensure that you mark the desired dog behvior with a delicious treat timed so that your pet clearly understands what behaviour earned him/her the treat. A couple of dog training experts recommend that you use a clicker when training your dog in order to mark the exact time that your pet does exactly what you want, then quickly give the reward. The clicker works pretty well, but so does doing a really high pitched “ata boy” or any other sound that your dog can identify as the sound for a reward.
Training your dog will require that you are very clear and consistent with the commands that you give your dog. You can decide on the verbal clues you want to use before you commence your training and stick with them. Make sure that everyone in the family uses the same commands and you will notice that the rate of your dog’s obedience training will be a lot higher and you will see quick changes in your dog’s behavior.

Okay, you want to know 100% effective methods to stop dog barking. I mean completely put a stop to that excessive dog barking that has been troubling you and your neighbors as well.
Well listen up because Iâm about to share with you 2 tactics that would work like a charm on your barking dog.
However, before doing so, I just need you to promise me two things, okay?
1. Please be consistent and exercise a little patience when employing the methods to stop dog barking outlined below. Without consistency, youâll never be able to train your dog effectively.
2. Donât punish your dog. Punishment will make your dog less incline to perform good behavior.. Â
Now, with that out of the way, kindly read the following methods to stop dog barking. Understand the tactics and begin to apply them consistently on your beloved dog for several days to several weeks â only then will you be able to put a complete stop to that annoying excessive dog barking.
Ok, now listen closely!
The Bark upon Request Tactic.
This sounds a little weird, but I find that one of the best methods to stop dog barking is by training your dog to bark whenever YOU WANT him to bark.
You can achieve this by giving him something that triggers his barking behavior. You might want to dangle a toy or food in front of your dog so that he would respond by barking.
When your dog barks, immediately praise him and keep saying âspeakâ over and over again. Do this many times and eventually, your dog would register the word âspeakâ as a cue for him to bark.
Now that you can tell him to bark upon request, you should also teach him to keep quiet instantly upon your command.
This is how itâs done.
When your dog barks, tell him to keep âquietâ. Repeat this word many times while giving your dog a little treat. After several days you can tell him to âbarkâ and then repeat the word âquietâ.
If he doesnât pipe down, you donât give him the treat. Perform this simple exercise often and pretty soon your dog will associate the word âquietâ with a tasty treat.
Stimulation of the Mind Tactic
Mental stimulation is vital for solving many kinds of behavior issues including excessive dog barking.
Be sure to conduct daily walks and exercise to keep your dog mentally stimulated.
Teach him to do useful things for you like getting your letter from the mailbox or get a soda from the fridge. This way, heâll be less incline to bark because his mind is fully stimulated with positive actions.
This I believe is one of the most effective methods to stop dog barking and works extremely well in the long run.

Dog training for obedience is a continuous process. Dog obedience training for obedience is basically a program that requires active involvement of both the owner and the dog. The whole dog training teaches them how to communicate with each other effectively. In case you do not know, dog training for obedience is vital to building a strong and close relationship with your dog. To achieve that, house training your dog is the most effective and quickest way to accelerate the dog training for obedience of your dog.
Proper dog training for obedience is built on the principle of proper and strict reinforcement of discipline. Dogs are naturally social creatures and are able to live in packs. As such, they are not loners and they are inclined to conform to social hierarchy or authority within the pack of dogs. Likewise, because of this, they are ready to listen and obey your commands. But dog obedience training is effective and easier for you if you know what you are doing. Otherwise, a lot of times, your dog training efforts become futile and counter-productive.
One common goal in dog training for obedience is to train your dog to respond to your command willingly and quickly every time you issue it. Dog obedience training is basically communication between you and your dog so that your dog understands how you want it to respond to you. At times, you will realize that training your dog is more about training yourself the owner. This is because your attitude, patience and effort towards dog training for obedience are so critical to the training success. One more tip for you is that dog training for obedience is an ongoing process.
The ideal dog obedience training method is using a consistent reward and punishment system as dogs respond well towards this especially when they are young puppies. Dog obedience training starts first with sit and come training. Make sure that it pays attention to your commands and not get distracted. Your dog needs to know that you are serious about the training and command. Do not merely threaten to punish it. Carry it out consistently so that he/she senses you are serious about the dog training session. The same goes for rewarding your dog for executing each command. Other basic dog obedience training techniques include training your dog to stay and keep down.
Dog training for obedience of course includes other more advanced commands such as off leash training. You will find a fair bit of information online. On top of these, you can find a good dog obedience training school for your pet. But be sure to use only Certified Pet Dog Trainers as they are professionally trained to handle most dogs.
Dog training for obedience is something you should begin from the very day your pet dog arrives at your doorstep. It is not something you can procrastinate or delay as your dog would quickly form its habits. It can become difficult down the road to change and correct any dog behavior problems like excessive barking, chewing etc as they stay longer at your home. Remember that dog obedience training is an excellent way of communicating and building friendship with your best friend. It also ensures he/she is under control and safe for the whole family.
