Would agility training teach my dog to jump the garden wall?

I have a border collie and when i bought one the general advice was to have a 9ft fence around the garden which i though was rediculous at the time so i disregarded it.

I saw someone else with a border collie and they had a 6 ft mesh fence and it looked horrible!

I have a 3ft wall around my house and my dog will at most stand up against it, but never even attempted to scale it even with people and dogs on the other side (which he loves) and i’m fairly sure that he could easily if he tried.

Anyway, he’s getting to the age to start agility but i am scared that he is going to realise that he can jump and climb and once he realises that, that i won’t be able to let him out into the garden.

Any agility dog owners with similar circumstances?

Is there any way to teach a dog how to stop barking?

Sometimes my dog barks for absolutely no reason…how can I teach him to be quiet when I want him too? He hasn’t been responding to “quiet”, we have been saying that to him everytime he barks and we have even held his mouth shut and told him to “be quiet!” but he doesn’t seem to understand. Any suggestions?

my friend has a two year old tea-cup terrier who is still not housebroken. she wants to give the dog to me because she doesn’t have the time to really housebreak her. is it too late for this dog to be trained?

Ways to teach an old dog to stop barking?

my dog was very well behaved until we got a new dog. now he barks like there is no tomorrow. weve tried spray bottles and muzzles but they havent worked. my dad just bought a shock collar and i really dont want my dog to wear it, how else can i teach him to stop barking?
Thanks Fish, weve been trying this. he mostly barks when he wants to play with the other dog.
